This beautiful bike ride will take you to a few possible lesser-known highlights in Waterland. You can ride the tour with your own bike, or you can order a (electric) bike. The guide and bikes will be waiting for you at the Grote Kerk in Monnickendam.
Here we start the bike tour. This charming Zuiderzee town has plenty to offer. Like the old dam that the monks still have built, and the town is named after. The picturesque port and 17th Century buildings, like the oldest carillon in the world, still playing. We enjoy the relaxed atmosphere in this charming old town and the guide will tell you about the rich history.
We follow the dyke to Uitdam and stop en route for a cup of coffee or tea. Via the scenic town of Zuiderwoude we cycle to Broek in Waterland. Surrounded by meadows Broek in Waterland may seem like an old farming village. However, it is originally a skipper village, where many shipowners, masters and wealthy merchants in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Broek in Waterland offers beautiful monumental buildings and beautiful gardens and plenty of water
This tour can very well be combined with the Waterland Ticket of € 10 or the Amsterdam & Region Travel Ticket, € 13.50. You can travel for 24-hours through the entire Old Amsterdam region North of Amsterdam. Along the way we stop for tea/coffee or for a little tour to a point of interest. Lunch is enjoyed at one of the stops.
